My name is David Owen McGaughy, my date of birth is 9-5-2006, I am 16 years of age.I weigh 180 lbs and I’m 5 foot 10 inches and I love to play baseball. I attend high school at Friona ISD in Texas as a sophomore. I have a 4.1 weighted GPA and a 3.8 college four-point GPA. As a freshman I performed at the varsity level in: Football, Baseball, Shot Put, and Discus. This year as a sophomore I have performed at the varsity level in: Baseball and Football.
I've been playing baseball since I was 4 years old. Baseball is the sport I really push myself in and compete to be the best ball player I can be. I am confident and consistent at the plate, I am a presence on the mound, and have great fielding skills.I am a quiet leader so I lead by example instead of trying to tell someone else how to do their job. I understand that a coach's best player is the coachable one and the one that works hard for his goals and the team. My goal is to be as coachable and hard working as I can.
I work on baseball year round even during football. I attend summer leagues as much as possible when they are available. I strive to always be better before in whatever I do: work, baseball, football, in the classroom, and as a genuine person. I have played little league football, Junior high football, High school football, little league baseball, babe ruth baseball, babe ruth all-stars baseball, high school baseball, junior high cross country, little league basketball, junior high basketball, junior high track and field, high school field, and I lift whenever I can in the school facilities and a private gym. All of these factors contribute to my athleticism.
I strive to be a top student in the classroom, as I keep my GPA high I notice average as an enemy and strive to remove average out of my life. I was inducted into the Junior National Honor Society and I try to volunteer around the city as much as possible. I think of the classroom as a strength and something I have confidence in but can still be able to push myself to the next level.
My plans out of highschool are to attend a university and major in Business as well as, play baseball at the highest possible level I can compete. I love baseball because baseball is a sport that most corresponds with life. I want to be able to play at the highest competitive level possible and I am open to all options of colleges. I hope I can change the people around me and put a great name for the team I hopefully play for, and to ultimately make my family and friends proud.
