Personal Statement
In my room I have a little frame with the quote,"Play like your in first, but train like your in second." That continues to be my approach as I build on my childhood dream of playing beyond high school, into college and to the pros. I was always known as the scrawny flamethrower who couldn't throw a strike to save his life. Some started to give up on me, but many still believed I could be something. I used the support from family and teammates to help push me to meet my goals. A moment in my life that will live with me forever was the loss of my friend and teammate. He was my catcher in little league, no one else ever caught me, and even if I threw 20 balls in a row he would continue to encourage me and never showed his frustration. The loss of him broke me, but also gave me strength and determination. Every time I pitch I draw the number 6 on the mound, in memory of the number he wore. It let me know he is there with me and watching over me. So i'm just a ordinary kid, with a passion to make my dreams into reality.
