Marcus Maire '22 Recruiting Profile

I was born in Texas, however, before I was one year old my dad's job took us overseas where I lived in 6 different countries the first 11 years of my life.  This is where I learned to play and love the game of baseball.  I was on teams in both Thailand and Indonesia and not only played locally but travelled to tournaments in Singapore and the Philippines.  These teams were very diverse and this is where I first learned the valuable lesson of team work and gained much respect for the various cultures.   

I know it takes a good work-ethic and commitment to have success.  My current athletic goal is to help my high school team win many games over the next two years and find a college where I can play baseball and contribute to their program. My current academic goal is to finish High School with a GPA of 4.0 or above and identify a challenging academic college. 

I have gained 20 pounds and increased my velocity by 10 mph over the last year.  I continue to train to become bigger, stronger and quicker and expect to gain another 10 pounds before my junior year begins and increase my velocity and bat speed.  My promise to my current and future coaches is that they will never have to worry or be concerned about my work-ethic, attitude, behavior or grades.   I have a strong willingness to learn both on and off the field.
