Hello, my name is Gabe Marr. I am currently a freshman at The Steward School. This is my first year attending Steward School after attending Guardian Christian Academy in Chesterfield, VA for the first 10 years of my academic career. I am currently 5' 10",150 lbs. and growing physically, intellectually and spiritually. As I start my High School career, I'm being as proactive as possible by setting goals for myself both in the classroom and on the field. I have my sights set on a college that can help me grow academically and as a athlete.
I've been a multi-sport athlete most of my life. I started playing soccer and T-ball when I was five years old. I continued exploring my interests by playing football, basketball and swimming when I was seven and eight. I've played GCA baseball and basketball in 6th-8th grades and I've been swimming competitively for 7 years. Three years ago I decided to add travel baseball to my resume, as well. I am transitioning to The Steward School to push myself into a more academic/ college prep and competitive sports environment. Although I'll continue to play other sports, my passion is clearly baseball. I enjoy being part of a team because we build each other up and encourage one another both on and off the field. I've also been lucky enough to have coaches that have poured into me and positively directed me throughout my sports career.
I was a member of Mount Pleasant Baptist Church in Colonial Heights, VA for 13 years and I recently started attending Life Co. Church in Chester, VA two years ago. I serve in the Children's Ministry and attend Youth Group at my church regularly. I also work a PT job on the weekends in the construction industry to help support my family with baseball fees. I will go on the record by saying every good thing I've been given in life has been a gift from God. My faith in Jesus will always be at the forefront of my decision making process. It would be an added bonus to find a college that will help me to further fine-tune my spiritual growth, as well.
