Personal Statement
I am a motivated student athlete that has been consistently proactive in reaching my academic and athletic goals. I love baseball, plain and simple. Before I was old enough to play, I loved memorizing stats and following the careers of many players I look up to. Once I played in my first tee-ball game, I have not looked back. To this day, I still carry the same excitement for each practice or game like I did when I first started. As a left-hander, I have spent much of my time at first base, pitching, and the outfield. Although I’m not certain what I want to major in, I do know I’m seeking a school with a balance of strong academics and competitive baseball. I want to be challenged in the classroom and on the field. What makes me different from most recruits is that I’m a hard working, self starter who takes ownership of my own development and strives to get better every single day. I am a teammate that brings consistent motivation, encouragement, and focus to my team. Also, as the son of a retired Marine Corps Officer, I was raised to embody the values of honor, courage, and commitment and I do my best to carry those values into the classroom and onto the field.
