Tony Groninger - ...Personal Statement
I am a 18 yrs old Freshman at Centralia College in Washington State who plays Inf/RHP. I want to keep playing baseball at the next level so I prepare myself to get better everyday. I train with my team, my brother and father regularly, watching film and looking for details that I can improve.
I still volunteer with my mom at her food bank and GSL tourneys for younger kids in my area to play & learn baseball competitiveness & some fundamentals.

- 17U NW Reign is based out E|L1 Sports Complex in Tacoma, Washington. We will be having a regular season starting May 14th 2021 until late July. I have also been selected to move up to 18U NW Reign Team as a swinger. I have also been selected to showcase my skills at the PNW ID Camp at the end of June.

- My primary team for summer baseball is NW Reign 17U. I will make all but for of the scheduled games on this list.
- 2020 Rochester Renegades (15U)
- 15U bases out of Rochester, Washington. Played one tournement in July 2020 took 2nd Place. Highlights from those games are in my video section.
- 2020 Summer Legion Warriors (17U)
- 17 U Team base out of Rochester. This team finally gets a chance to play together this year after Covid-19 shut down our regular season. We played a modified season of 15 games. Coach Quarnstrom leads this team.

- Marine Corps PT with my dad, along with free weights, mini bands & other resistance products.

- U.S.M.C. conditioning workouts, Full set of free weights. I can Bench = 185 lbs / Squat = 250 lbs, swimming/water drills, mini band exercises, sprints, long distance running, up hill running with weighted vest, & jump roping, arm care specific workouts, Pronation drills, I have built a finger band workstation with my dad and use that to build finger strength & grip. I can now run a mile in 5:54. Now that I have joined NW Reign & E|L1 Tacoma, Washington, I will have use of their facilities and take my training I learned at home to another level.

- ActivitiesStarted a weekly local food bank during Covid with my mom. We are helping 300 families so far and have grown into a community building from our house. It feels good to give back especially in these times and I am so proud of my mom for winning Community Person of the Year and the Oakvilian Award from the Mayor. Also on December 18th every year, is "Tara Groninger Day". We have made an impact in our neighborhood and farther but still have work to do. I also volunteer my time coaching youth, being a referee at camps and club fundraisers and community service for all my teams. I baby sit for my cousin while he works when needed. He is like a little brother. I enjoy music, fishing, swimming, video games, watching YouTube highlights. I am hosting free small group youth camps for my little community during summer. In these camps I will teach them the basics of teamwork, leadership, sportsmanship & all the fundamentals of baseball and basketball. Thanks for taking the time to read this, -Tony
