Hello, my name is Joseph Costanti and I am my coach's favorite athlete. I am not the fastest, strongest or biggest but I am willing to listen to them and do what they ask. The importance of practicing the way you want to perform cannot be understated, I lead by example and try to be first in line for drills to set that example. I have earned my coaches’ confidence and they trust me to play a wide variety of positions. All of my coaches know that I always play to win and have fun competing at a high level.
In baseball I consider my position to be 3rd base. My high school and summer teams have a shortage of outfielders and I have moved to 1st base because that is what the team needs. The team also needs me to pitch sometimes and I will gladly take on the challenge. Since my freshman year of high school I played varsity baseball as a starter for all games.
In addition to baseball I also play football. My freshman year I started on special teams as the long snapper and by the end of freshman year I was the starting center. I continued my special teams role and became the tight end on offense as a sophomore. During my junior year I added duties as back-up quarterback and a team captain. I look forward to my senior year as I prepare to play quarterback and lead the team as a captain.
I also spend a lot of time studying. As a junior I am currently taking 3 AP courses and 2 college in the classroom courses . My unweighted GPA is 3.86 and I am a member of the National Honor Society. Next year, I will be taking 2 AP classes and 2 college in the classroom courses.
I spend my spare time with family and friends at our lake cabin where I like to waterski, wakeboard and just relax and float in the sun. I also have created a little business for myself moving stuff for people and taking loads to the dump in my truck. This type of work is easier to fit in between practices than a regular job.
I have been recognized in many ways for my athletic and academic achievements. In addition to earning varsity letters in 3 different sports, I have also been named Special Teams Player of the Year for Curtis High School 2022 and 2023, Honorable Mention All SPSL Tight End 2023, and voted Defensive Player of the Year by the Curtis High School Baseball team 2022.
My coaches also like the fact that I am 6’3” and like to laugh and have fun. My teachers like me because I participate in class and complete my school work as they ask. As a good student and hopefully a good athlete I want to continue to compete and play at a high level. Please look at my videos and contact me if you would like to schedule some time to talk.
