Personal Statement

I hope to become a professional baseball player, and I'm willing to work for it.  I have a great attitude, enjoy talking with and encouraging others, and have a long-standing love for the game; even just being on the field is exciting for me.  I enjoy seeing my friends/teammates succeed when they play, and sometimes find myself cheering on the competition because of it.  Winning for me is being a part of the game and leaving my all on the field, every game.

Ultimately, my goal is simply to be the best person I can be.  After graduation and after any baseball career I may be graced with, my intent is to seek a career in either psychology or law enforcement.

Outside of baseball, I enjoy playing pool, throwing darts, playing basketball, and hanging out with my family.

  • Camp/Event
  • West Virginia Miners Baseball Camp
  • 6/23/20 to 6/25/20
  • Camp sessions were divided into two separate groups (time slots) based on age, however; after the first day, older kids attended both sessions (time slots). This was to provide assistance with training the younger children, to encourage a deeper, personal learning experience through having to teach the information, as well as to provide ample opportunity for warm-up prior to the much more rigorous 1:2 training which occurred immediately afterward.
  • Camp/Event
  • Cincinnati Reds Baseball Camp
  • 7/16/18 to 7/19/18
  • Attended an intensive baseball camp held by the Cincinnati Reds. Individual achievement included winning a competition for the longest and most accurate baseball throw from outfield to home plate; putting the ball directly into a trash can which was lying down; doing so multiple times to beat out the competition.

Training

  • Baseball Fundamentals
  • 3 years
  • Worked one-on-one with Tim Epling, General Manager for the WV Miner's Prospect League, for approximately 6 months on the basics of pitching, fielding, and batting. Was given the opportunity to attend regular practices with a high school baseball team as well, to continue working on balance, fielding, and athleticism within a team unit. As a result of Mr. Epling's continued generosity, have been permitted to warm up and practice with the prospect league players during home games at the field; assisting with outfield work as well as performing ball-boy duties for the past 2 seasons.
  • Cincinnati Reds Baseball Camp
  • 1 year
  • In 2018, attended a week long, intensive baseball camp held by the Cincinnati Reds. Certificate of Completion received. Individual achievement included winning the internal camp competition for the longest and most accurate baseball throw from outfield to home plate; making it into a trash can, and doing so multiple times so as to beat out the competition.
  • Combine Training Academy, NC
  • 1 year
  • Attended a month-long baseball training program at Combine Academy in Lincolnton, North Carolina with a focus on pitching and building velocity.
