Jacob Sparger '13 Recruiting Profile

I am a 6'4" junior from Eau Claire, Wisconsin.  I attend Eau Claire Memorial High School.  I am a  right handed pitcher who throws an 87mph fastball with a lot of movement on it.  I can also throw a slider,and change up.  As a freshman, I made one start at the varsity level where I threw a 7-inning complete game shutout allowing only 4 hits with 5 strikeouts.  As a sophomore I was my teams #1 starter on the mound and went 5-2 with 55.2 innings pitched and a 2.78 era. I also was our starting 1st baseman when I was not pitching. I hit .457, had 1 homerun and 27 rbi's.

I am looking to play baseball at the highest level of competition possible.  Right now I am leaving all my options open and distance is not a concern.  I am an athlete that is very driven to work hard to improve my skills.  I  have been around the game my whole life since my dad is the head highschool baseball coach.  My older brother is currently playing baseball for a D1 college so I know what it takes to play at the next level.

Last fall I attended the Chicago White Sox Showcase.  I was rated as the 20th top prospect out of 110 participants. This fall I attended the same Chicago White Sox Showcase and was ranked 7th overall. This fall, I will be playing  for the Racine Hitters fall team.

I also play For Rj Fergus and the Racine Hitters, a premiere baseaball team that travels all over the U.S, during the summer and the fall.
