Since I have been seven I have had a passion for the game of baseball. Each year brings me a new opportunity to learn, grow, and develop my skills not only on the field but as a person. My goal is to play baseball at the highest level while gaining my degree in the medical field. I want to use the skills I learn in the classroom and on the field to help others who are in need medically. Some of my greatest lessons I have learned from the game have made me stronger in the classroom and in life. I want to apply this to my future.
What sets me apart from others, is I believe in the team before myself. I believe that it takes everyone to win, but if we do not win, then it takes us all to pick each other up to be ready for our next opponent. We need to celebrate as a team but also reflect as a team as well. Be honest with oneself and be determined to put in the work to get better. I believe that nothing is ever handed to you. You need to put in the work, the time, and to rise above failure. Failure gives me an opportunity to learn and persevere.
I have played many positions since I started the game. I thought for the longest time my goal was to be a catcher and power hitter. I still love what a catcher can bring to the game, but I also have learned that you need to be what your team needs as well. So over time I have developed as a pitcher, first baseman and an outfielder. I see myself as a high level pitcher and the rush I get when I throw well. I also have began to love to play the outfield and contribute to my team on a different level. I am versatile and willing to work on anything that I need to help a team be successful.
