Personal Statement

I have decided to concentrate my high school athletic career on developing and improving my baseball skills.  My grandpa played basketball at Marquette University in the 50's.  I like listening to the stories he tells about the times he spent with his teammates, the universities he visited while he was playing and how playing college sports helped him focus in the classroom in order to earn his degree.  He and my parents won't let me forget how important my studies are to my future.  So far, my Freshman year is going well, but I understand the workload will become more difficult.  My off-season workouts force me to manage my time so that I am able to balance school and baseball in a way that I can continue to get good grades.
I love the game of baseball and dream about playing in college.  Playing baseball for a number of different teams over the years has given me the opportunity to make friends that I will have forever.  Many of my teammates attend different high schools now.  I look forward to competing against them in the years ahead.  Win or lose, after the game, we will still be friends.  I want to play baseball at the highest level in college and I am willing to do whatever I have to to get there.  I realize I have a long way to go and continue to tell myself that there is a lot of room to improve.  That's what motivates me.  The understanding that there is always room to get better and that I am not done yet.  The room for improvement not only motivates me, it excites me.  I am excited to see where more improvement will lead.  That may be what makes me different from other athletes.  I will never be done getting better.  I believe that anyone that thinks differently is selling himself or herself short and will never reach their true potential.
Although I understand I may change direction, right now I plan to graduate with a Business degree and would like to work in Public Relations, Advertising or Marketing.  I enjoy being around people. The members of my family are the most important people in my life.  We are very close, support each other and are always willing to help each other whenever needed.

NCSA COLLEGE RECRUITING®

NCSA College Recruiting® (NCSA) is the nation’s leading collegiate recruiting source for more than 500,000 student-athletes and 42,000 college coaches. By taking advantage of this extensive network, more than 92 percent of NCSA verified athletes play at the college level. The network is available to high school student-athletes around the country through valued relationships with the NFLPA, FBU, NFCA and SPIRE. Each year, NCSA educates over 4 million athletes and their parents about the recruiting process through resources on its website, presentations of the critically-acclaimed seminar College Recruiting Simplified, and with Athletes Wanted, the book written by NCSA founder Chris Krause.
