My love for cheer began when I was 4 years old and joined my older siblings on their Allstar Cheer team. During my seven seasons there, I came to understand the values of teamwork, athlete safety, a strong work ethic and pushing yourself to excel at a much deeper level. High school cheer has continued to build upon that. Cheerleading is a huge part of who I am, and I am excited about the opportunity to continue that journey in college. I also value the importance of my education. My academic plan for college is to graduate with dual degrees in Criminology and Psychology, with the end goal of becoming a Criminal Psychologist. This is something I have been working toward for quite a while.
Last summer my family moved from Maryland to Alaska. It has been quite a change, but I have learned important things about myself. For instance, I easily adapt to new situations, and my passion and love for cheer provide an opportunity for me to meet new people with the same interests wherever I go. During the first year at my new school, I was given the responsibility of Practice Lead (planning and leading all practices). My hard work and training earned me the respect of both the team and the coaches, and I was selected for this leadership role. They had confidence in my ability to do what is best for the team.
