I have been cheering for 3 years now. I have been doing some sort of sport throughout my childhood. I was in soccer for a few years. I loved jumping and climbing and being the center of attention. I then joined gymnastics when I was 8 up until I was 13. My mom and dad could not afford the cost of practicing and competing, so the owner of the Gym saw my potential and offered me a scholarship for all my monthly practices and some of my coemption fees. I competed for 6 years then decided to take a break. I took a dance class my freshman year and the cheer girls begged me to try out for the school team. My tumbling skills and dance skills landed me a spot on the varsity team as a sophomore.
One thing I realized about myself during my year off was that I needed the team dynamic back in my life. I love working with a team to meet goals and individually challenging myself to grow and get better than the year before.
My grades also suffered my freshman year because I was not on a team and was not doing something constructive with my days. I was diagnosed with ADD in 1st grade, but my parents did not want me to be on meds for as long as we could manage. I found that when I was in gymnastics and now cheer my grades are better and I am more focused.
I am a middle child of five kids and am very good at adapting to new situations and people. I am a mild-mannered young woman that loves to work as a team and help others achieve their goals as well. I am looking for a team to take my skills to the next level and to become my new home while getting an education.
