Hi, my name is Selema Copening. When I go to college I want my major to be Pre-vet or any major that can qualify me for Vet School. I am extremely passionate about being a veterinarian. On the other hand, becoming a veterinarian never crossed my mind while growing up. I honestly never knew what I wanted to be when I grew up. At one point I wanted to be a dentist, then an actress, a lawyer, and even a teacher. My mom put me in a lot of extracurricular activities as a child such as; cheer, dance, and modeling. I even auditioned to be on TV, but I was too shy. About two years ago I was asked what I wanted to be when I grew up and I didn’t have an answer. All the occupations I thought of as a kid weren’t in my interests anymore. I started to notice how much I loved and cared for animals. I always enjoyed going to the Philadelphia Zoo. I loved coming back home to my cats after I had been away for some days or even hours. I hate seeing stray animals outside and always feel bad for them, so I feed them. My eyes even used to water from those commercials with the sad music trying to find homes for animals. I loved going to pet stores like PetCo and Monster Pets just to look at all the animals. I would be a good candidate for the team because I put my best foot forward in all I do and I put energy into the things I enjoy doing. I am different from other recruits in character because even though I am shy, I break out of it when it's time to perform. I am different from other recruits in athletics because I set a lot of goals that I want to achieve and learn as a cheerleader. These goals consist of getting better at jumps and learning more about stunting (since I started stunting this year), and I want to learn how to flip and tumble. Even though I can grow in these places I still would be a good attribute to the team because I am sharp with my moves and give it all I got. I am different from others in academics because I complete my assignments on time with my greatest effort, stay on top of my work, and strive to do my best in every class.
