Sydney Smith '25 Recruiting Profile

My name is Sydney Smith, and I am an 11th grader from Richmond, Texas. I attend Westbury Christian School in Houston, where I am hardworking, disciplined, and dedicated to my faith. I am also on the Varsity Cheer team. I was the Co-Captain last year and made Captain of my squad for this current year. I have five years of sideline cheer experience from junior high to high school and twelve years of cheer and tumbling experience in All-star cheer. My major position is a main base in which I am extremely strong. I also have experience as a side base, and I am currently working on my flyer skills. In addition, I have experience coaching lower-level athletes and conducting stunting, jumps, and handspring classes.

And just a little more, I am on a world’s team at Woodlands Elite -Oakridge, where I am on a medium-level six co-ed squad. My dream has been to cheer at the college level for many years during football, basketball, and volleyball games. I would love to get the opportunity to meet with you to discuss my future academic and cheerleading plans. I graduate in Spring 2025, and cheering at your university would be amazing. I stand out from other recruits because I am a natural motivator- I want to see everyone around me win. I am a team player; I get along with everyone I meet. I am outgoing and always have a positive attitude, no matter the situation. And I must mention I have a dry sense of humor that comes in handy to lighten the mood among teammates and coaches. If I am selected for one of your programs, I will be dedicated to enhancing my skills and working to be a better athlete. Further, I am open to any direction you can share, as I want to give myself the best chance of making one of your teams.
