Elizabeth Young '12 Recruiting Profile

Hi my name is Elizabeth Young, but on the field they call me lizzy. I am the starting  center defender and captain of my team this year. I am 5 foot 3 inches, around 125 pounds and I'm one of the fastest on my team.Last year my team won our league, came in 1st for CIF's (Champions of the San Diego district for division II), and also came in 1st place at Cal Cup and this year we plan to do the same. This summer I attended several college field hockey camps, and was introduced to some of the great field hockey programs in California. I aspire to play field hockey in college, not only to create lasting bonds with my teammates, but also because I could not see myself giving up the sport that means the most to me. Field hockey is my favorite sport, but I also play soccer and lacrosse for my school. My ultimate goal is to become a Veternarian or something related to helping people or animals in the medical field. I am looking for a school that will give me a good education but will also allow me to play field hockey during college. I would be honored to play at any division level school, as long as it is a good academic school. I will be attending festival this year with my team San Diego Short Corner in the GU19 T bracket.
