My name is Riley O'Neill, class of 2028, from Trumbull, CT. I have been playing field hockey for both my town team and club travel team since 2019. I just finished my freshman year as a Varsity starter at King School. We had a strong 14-4-1 record this season and I contributed 8 goals and 7 assists. We reached the FAA Semifinals and were named the 4-seed in the NEPSAC Tournament.
Field hockey is my passion. I primarily play midfield, although I am also very comfortable at attack. I pride myself on my strong stick skills, determination and leading by positive example on the field.
In the classroom I am an extremely hard worker. I believe being a student athlete has taught me discipline, drive, time management and most importantly teamwork. I dream of playing field hockey in college for a school that will challenge me both academically and athletically.
I am looking forward to this winter’s indoor season, as well the upcoming Shooting Star Thanksgiving Tournament (U19 guest player Texas Pride), Winter Escape Showcase (U16) and the Sunshine Showcase (U16 & U19 teams).
This Spring I will compete in Nexus as well as continue coaching the next generation of field hockey in our town as a Volunteer Coach for K-8th graders. This is a fun way to pay it forward and also give back to the sport I love!
