Hi, thank you for taking the time to look at my profile!
My name is Ella Grady and I am from Paxton, MA. I am a senior defender (Class of 2022) at Division 1 Wachusett Regional High School in Holden, MA. I play club field hockey for Northeast Elite Field Hockey Club out of New Hampshire. I swam competitively for 5 years until I started to focus on field hockey in 7th grade. I also ran spring track in 8th grade to prepare for high school field hockey and this past spring I played on the varsity golf team as a member of their starting 6 lineup.
From the time I first picked up a field hockey stick at the age of 5 at rec field hockey, I never put it down. My parents were gracious enough to let me experiment with many sports when I was younger but I always went back to field hockey. After playing for 12 years I can’t imagine not being able to play, which is why I am very interested to play at the collegiate level.
Being from a small town in Central Mass, the sport is not as popular, but with small rec teams and clubs that happened with the surrounding towns, it helped my learn new field hockey IQ and develop as a player.
I am intending to major in Communications and Media and minoring in Sports Journalism. I enjoy not only being on the field but being in the classroom and I hope to have 4 more years to succeed in both settings. I hope to bring a positive attitude and a hardworking spirit to practices and games and would love to become an addition to your team!
