The first time I stepped on the field hockey turf as an 8-year-old girl, it became my favorite sport. I never realized just how much I loved it until I was injured and could not play. Those couple months were devastating, and I realized then how much I missed field hockey and love playing. The time off from my injury is ultimately what influenced me to want to play in college as I cannot imagine myself ending this sport before then. Ever since I recovered, I have found the drive inside myself to try those moves that I was scared to try before and give a chance to the shot I never felt comfortable taking outside of practice.
Growing up I was also a competitive soccer player, which has given me both the gift of speed and discipline on the field. This contributes to the way I am able to quickly and accurately get the field hockey ball down the sidelines to my teammates. I am very excited for the opportunity to play field hockey in college and look forward to the challenge of achieving my dream.
