Abby Merrill '17 Recruiting Profile

Hi, I'm Abby Merrill and I am a Junior at Winnacunnet High School. This is my third year on varsity and second year varsity starter. Last year I was second highest goal scorer with 18 goals and so far this season I am highest goal scorer with 16 goals and 5 assists. My high school team is ranked 2nd in the state with a record of 9-1-1 right now, with only a few games left of our regular season before we go into playoffs. Last year I helped my high school team to capture the NH D1 State Championship. Then this summer I helped my club team, U16 Northeast Elite Gold to become nationally ranked 8th in the entire country. My goals are to play division one field hockey and study pre-med. I have always wanted to play D1 since I started playing in the fourth grade and since then I have worked really hard to get where I am today. I think I am a good candidate for your team because I have good leader ship skills on and off the field, I am coachable, I am responsible and dependable, and I am willing to put in the work to become successful. I think what differentiates me from other recruits is my work ethic and motivation.
