Hi!
(In progress) I aspire to attend a college or university that encourages me to balance and succeed in both rigorous academic and athletic programs. I am drawn to (and have always learned the most from) coaches who are really passionate about teaching and coaching.
My academic aspirations lean into science. More specifically geo/earth sciences and how a changing environment affects societies. Anthropology, archelogy, history, culture and even music. Pangea blows my mind. My dad is a rocket scientist (legit) and my mom manages non-profits - so who knows. With all that perspective, I’ll probably wind up going to law school or becoming a researcher.
While I just finished my sophomore year in high school (GPA 3.8-ish/weighted 4.2 with Honors classes) I think I would fit best in any (DIII or DII) strong college program somewhere in the Northeast US or even Canada. My family is in New Hampshire and I really dig them. It’s important to me to be near the ocean or a lake.
This past year I played club softball for the NH Prospects all year. We won several tournaments (Georgia, Florida, Massachusetts and New Hampshire) and Varsity softball for my high school (state semi-finalist). I played Varsity basketball as well. Both sports I earned recognition as an athlete-scholar.
My freshman year was a three-sport athlete in addition to playing club softball all year long. I was named the, “Hardest working player,” on my basketball team. I led my JV softball team in batting (.658), homeruns, steals, OBP and SLG. I led in HBP, too but that’s probably because I hit lefty and am 6 feet tall. My secret weapons are my speed and love of being a member of a team. Most recently (November 2023) I made my High School Varsity basketball team as post/forward.
I'm a member of my High School's Sustainability, Spirit and Gardening Clubs. Basically that means I design player-posters for events and weed the school garden. My hobbies are the visual arts (drawing, painting, photography); community service (peer leader for autistic teens), and; pet, house and baby-sitting.
P.S. I have three cousins that recently played college (DI) sports: volleyball @LSU; track @UT Austin and tennis @Brown. My grandfather played basketball and baseball for Iowa State U in the late 1950's.
