Personal Statement
My name is Molly Edmark and I am a senior at Plymouth Regional High School. I have played field hockey and have been a goalkeeper for seven years and carry a lot of passion for the sport and position. I am also involved in softball and basketball, but my passion has always been for field hockey. I am thrilled by the intensity of being a goalie because I work so well under pressure. For me, the position is unlike any other and I am grateful to be it.
Going into the 2017-18 field hockey season, I had a goal to not only make varsity as a sophomore but excel in my position for my team. I was able to do that and more, including earning a starting goalkeeping position on the varsity squad and playing a large role in leading my team back into the quarterfinals of playoffs. My positive attitude, grit, and passion for everything I do were all components that helped achieve these goals.
School is also a big focus in my life. I strive to do my best in the mix of college-prep and honors classes and electives that fill my schedule. I earn A's and B's in these classes. Just like in sports, I work very hard to excel and am always looking to improve.
Playing field hockey at the collegiate level is a goal I have set. I am willing to put in the work and have the dedication and drive to play for a competitive division two or three team. With my grit, willingness, and ability to step up for my team, I believe I can make this happen with the help of a strong support system behind me.
