Personal Statement
When I first put on the field hockey goalie gear in seventh grade I knew being a goalkeeper was going to be a fun trip because it just felt right.
Some of my strengths as a goalkeeper are good hand eye coordination which allows me to block a lot of high shots. I have strong leadership skills and am able to communicate well with my defense during games by maintaining relationships and building trust with them off the field.
I realize that I'm still a sophomore in high school and this year, as a first year varsity starter, I realized a lot of my weaknesses. To make myself better I look for challenges and opportunities to play as much as I can. One of the lessons I learned this season is how to lose gracefully, how to pick myself back up, be the change, and lead the team to make the changes that we need.
Outside of field hockey I put in 110% effort to make a good environment for whatever I'm doing. I'm excited to go to a college to learn and grow as a person and have new experiences to make myself and those around me better.
