Hello. My name is Jordan Saybe, a junior at Randolph high school. I am one of the captains of the Randolph varsity field hockey team as a junior. Before moving to the high school I only played basketball. I had challenged myself to try a new sport. At the end of 8th grade one of my teachers asked me to participate in a field hockey tournament at Kean University. I had never played before that, but I said yes and had so much fun. Ever since then I really loved playing field hockey. I played freshman year on the freshman team as the captain, until half way through the season I was pulled to varsity. I was starting varsity sophomore year as midfield. Throughout the season, I would be moved around on the field depending on where my coach needed me. I was able to play every position that I was put in even if it was not my usual spot. Since then, i have pushed myself doing clinics and small tournaments. I played for a club team during the spring/summer to enhance my skills. I am always able to create an amazing bond with my teammates. They trust me on and off the field not matter what it is. Although I have not been playing this sport for that long, I have developed such a passion for it, I can not imagine ever giving it up. I would love to continue my career at the college level.
