Personal Statement
I’m Abby Gwardschaladse and I’ve been playing field hockey for the last seven years. My interest began when learning the basics during a fifth grade gym class. Playing field hockey has helped me learn to become a team player, to know how to lead when necessary, and be supportive of my teammates with the goal of being successful as a group.
My main goal is to find a school that has educational programs that interest me and will help me decide on a career path as well as allowing me to continue playing field hockey into my college years. Being a part of the sport and competing has given me drive and focus. I’ve learned the value of putting effort into improving my skills and becoming a better player which gives me satisfaction. I worked hard enough to be team captain of my JV team and the highest scorer for my sophomore season. Being team captain also helped push me to learn leadership skills such as being a good communicator, making team decisions and helping the team stay positive and focused. I feel that I have the talent and qualities that make me an ideal player and an asset for any team.
