I was introduced to the sport of field hockey at the early age of eight from my mother, who played in college. The sport did not always come easy to me. I learned from my father, a former Marine, that I need to be disciplined and have perseverance in order to be successful in school and athletics. One of my role models is my older brother who is currently a lacrosse player training at a military college to become a marine. He taught me to never let the fear of failing keep me from reaching my goals.
My goals are to graduate high school in the top ten of my class and attend a college that has an academic and athletic program that will challenge me to be a better player, student, and all-around person. My selflessness allows me to care more about my team’s performance, opposed to my personal stats. I feel that a team can accomplish so much more than an individual, especially when working towards a common goal. I am confident that I will be able to contribute to a very team oriented collegiate program and look forward to finding that right fit.
