Personal Statement
My name is Anna, and I'm a goal-oriented student and field hockey player. I've spent the offseason and the summer working toward accomplishing my goals of attending a prestigious university for academics and playing field hockey at a high level.
Since sixth grade when I attended a local camp with Lower Dauphin High School coach Linda Kreiser, I've been establishing field hockey goals and working hard to achieve them. Now, a few years into my career, I am able to see the results of my hard work. Since mid-spring, I have been working out at a CrossFit gym 3-4 times a week in addition to my club and school practices. My varsity school team is coming off of a great season last year, advancing to the PIAA semifinal game, the farthest in school history; as a team, we are looking forward to continuing to make school history. Personally, I am looking forward to becoming a leader on our team as most of our varsity roster graduated; I am entering my junior year as an elected grade-level captain.
My academic career is very important to me. At the moment, I am ranked 10th in my class of 425 students which places me in the top 2% of my class. At the end of this summer, I will have earned 18 college credits through dual enrollment classes. I am currently scheduled for two AP classes next fall and two additional dual enrollment classes. My goal is to major in English and then pursue a law degree. In addition to my academic achievements, I am involved in numerous extracurriculars including the math, science, and English honor societies, serving as a student tutor at both our middle and high schools, being a Big Sister in our local Big Brothers Big Sisters program, and representing my class as a member of the student council.
Thank you for taking the time to get to know a little bit about me. I'm looking forward to sharing more as the season moves along.
