Personal Statement
My name is Amber Meluzio, I am a multi sport athlete who recently finished my junior year of high school. As well as hockey I also play club softball, which I have been playing for many years. I also play on my church softball team with my family and friends. Other than sports I also take piano lessons and work hard on my schoolwork. I started out when I was younger figure skating and then soon I switched to hockey. I have played most of my hockey career for boys teams. I currently am the only girl on my high school varsity team, I am also practicing 2 to 3 days a week with the Skipjacks Hockey Club AAA boys program and I also play on a girls club team. I think playing competitive boys hockey has really made me a stronger player on my girls team.
I think my biggest asset as a player and team mate is that I take pride in playing defense and I work hard each day to make sure that I am the best I can be, and I benefit my team as much as I can. I am able to switch from playing good solid defense to joining the rush and play up ice joining the rush depending which team I am playing for and when needed. Positional play and hockey IQ are my two best qualities on the ice and hard work and having fun are my best qualities off the ice. I am never the loudest on my teams but I get very hyped and am a silent leader, who can lead by example.
I want to play college hockey at the highest level possible.
