Personal Statement
I believe one of my strongest character traits is that I am "coachable." I value the wisdom and instruction of those who have more experience than me. Although I believe I have been given my gifts and talents, I am humble enough to know that I can always improve and am determined to do whatever it takes to perform at my highest level. I am committed to working hard and striving to lead others during my college career and understand the importance of being a role model as a student and as an athlete.
I began playing varsity sports in eighth grade by making both the basketball and football varsity squads. I was placed into a leadership role my ninth grade year as the starting quarterback when many of our athletes left at the beginning of the year to attend another school. My older brother and I joined forces with those remaining to fight for the honor of our school. It was a challenging year as we fought through the demanding season along with many fellow players being even younger than myself. However, I felt I was called on to "lead" and I committed to doing so at all cost. My older brother and I grew closer and bonded like never before after having been battle tested throughout the season. That alone made the entire season worthwhile.
I have spent time as a running back, quarterback, wide receiver, safety, cornerback, linebacker, kicker, punter, and punt returner. I feel like I am strongest at wide receiver and running back, but willingly accept the challenge of playing any position the coach believes I would be the most productive.
Playing football at the next level is my passion and lifelong dream and I am willing to do whatever it takes to make it happen.
