Personal Statement
My name is Stephen Stearman. I live in Mountainburg, AR. I have been in love with football since I began playing in the 1st grade. I am 6 foot 4 inches and I weigh 300 pounds. My junior year was my first year to play football on the Varsity Team because shortly before my sophmore season was soon to begin, I tore my left ACL. I was heartbroken. After surgery, rehabilitation, and forcing myself to go to the gym three times a week, I had finally recovered from this injury. I came into my Junior season of football with no problems. Never once did my knee keep me from doing what I love. I started every game and after 11 games I had one blocked punt for a touchdown, nine pass deflections (5 in one game), 65 tackles and two blocked field goals. Offensively, most of our plays went to the left side, where I was creating the hole. My goals after high school include finding a college, hopelly somewhere in the state of Arkansas, where I can continue my athletic career while getting my education. The size of a college makes no difference to me. I have grown up in a small school and I feel as if I am educated just as well as my friends from the larger school districts. The size of a school will not discourage my commitment. I have a 4.0 GPA and I am very dedicated to my studies. In the end, just the honor of being a college athlete. I love football and fall is the best time of year for me. The rest of the year all I can think about is getting back to those two weeks of rough practice in early August, the blood and sweat under the 110 degree sun just puts a smile on my face knowing that the next 3-5 months are going to be fun. My final thought is to any college coach whom I might have the honor of speaking with or playing for, I will not let you down, football is my passion.
