Playing for the football team was not only the best decision I made in my life but really influenced me into being a better person and the best leader I can be on the field and off the field. I started in my freshmen year and while playing my love for the sport grew more and more not just because I got to throw guys around and pancake many but because the brotherhood and family Iâve built with the people around me. I practiced and worked hard to get better not just for my own benefit but because I had the feeling of not wanting to let nobody down. All with this I grew up with strict (Polynesian) parents so you know how that goes⊠striving for a high gpa was always the goal and being on time, going to class, and being successful in class was a must. Thereâs a motto we went by this year of the saying âLetâs Be Differentâ. Being different meant letâs not be the same as old Antioch teams before that was late to practice, didnât attend class, not doing good with grades and just doing bad in general but to be better. As a whole team the saying was for us to strive for better, for us to go to class, to go to practice on time and put 100% and to be prepared for better or for worse, for us just to be great. Many perceived us to be a bad team and had no faith in us⊠taking that into consideration we proved many wrong and shocked many and even made playoffs. My aspirations remain the same I continue to make myself better physically and academically I set high goals for myself I want to achieve and I aim to get a scholarship for the sport I love.
