Personal Statement

I am a hardcore athlete and have been for as long as I can remember. I started playing club basketball at 9yrs and became starting center for my team frosh and soph years, as well as the only frosh player, at 14yrs, and 6'2", who could dunk!  At 16, last year, my junior year, I transferred highschools, to La Costa Canyon (LCC), to play football because my former school didn't have a team. I'd gained a passion for football playing with friends, outside of school, and my size and strength made me a natural. In my first start as DE (LCC v San Marcos: Sept 16, 2022), I made a key sack resulting in a forced fumble and was interviewed by the SD Union Tribune post game.

In the off season, this past spring, 2023, I joined LCC's Track & Field team and landed a spot as shotputter. By end of our season, in May, I'd qualified for CA State T&F finals as well as threw a school shotput record (51'4"), 2nd in distance behind only LCC alum, UCLA and NFL player, Scott Quessenberry.

I have excelled in the classroom as well, and have a 3.6 GPA. Math and science are areas I excel at and enjoy. I want to attend a college where I can push myself in the classroom and on the field. I am open to all options and want ultimately to find the right college match at the highest level of competition possible.

For me, there is no other sport than football that compares in terms of the dedication and grit needed to be a great player. I am always training to get stronger and faster. I love the feeling of getting better, seeing results made through sweat and pain, and becoming the best possible version of myself that I can. My goal is to play football at the highest level for as long as I can, moving from highschool to a top notch collegiate team and hopefully, the NFL. Quitting is never an option.

I hope to become a great role model to my peers and make my parents proud!
