Jake Savage '14 Recruiting Profile

My name is Jake Savage I attend San Joaquin Memorial in Fresno California, I am a leader and a good person who can respond to criticism and build upon it. I love football and everything about the game,  I am open to any and all challenges and responsibilities given me. I play many different positions for my football team but the areas I excel in most are Nose Guard, Center and defensive tackle. I am perfect for these positions because of my use of leverage and my strength. I am able to get underneath an offensive or defensive lineman and ultimately win the battle at the line. While still maintaining a perfect snap and a quick first step. Along with my intuitive play I have an aggressive nature, in my work ethic on and off the field.  This last season I was awarded First Team All League Defensive Linemen  in a Division One league as a junior. I not only play on the line but also have played Fullback, Defensive End, Outside Line Backer and also on the Offensive Line. With my experience at such a wide array of different positions I have a very good understanding of how the game is played. I took on the role as leader of my team as well as the Defensive Line and was awarded best Linemen on my team this last year for my hard work and my leadership. My sophomore year I started on my varsity team. I was the only sophomore to be on varsity and start every game.  My Freshmen year I was the only player to be pulled up for the playoffs which we went all the way to the valley championship. If you ask my coach he will tell you I give a 110% everyday and push everyone on my team to do the same. If I get a chance to play football after high school I will do anything and everything to meet the coaches expectations and surpass them.
