Personal Statement
Prior to my Freshmen year in high school, I suffered a fracture to my growth plate in my left knee. I was projected to be the starting freshmen team quarterback before the injury but this setback sparked a major comeback. The grind from being helpless in the hospital bed to getting back to full strength is an experience that I am extremely grateful for. My family, coaches, and teammates were extremely supportive during the time of struggle. If it weren't for their support I'm pretty sure I would have skipped my freshmen year and just played basketball and ran track but I am glad that I did play because if not I would not have gotten noticed by head varsity football coach Robbie Owens. I'm just happy I stuck with the process, hung in there, and remained resilient and now it is all paying off.
