Shane Smith '12 Recruiting Profile

To start off, I am nearly 6'2" and about 225 pounds. I was 230 but now I am cutting down a little and focusing on my speed, forward and lateral.  This past off-season, I have really worked on my leg strength to help with my speed. My squats have reached 445, but with this, I still worked on all other lifts such as power clean-305 and bench-400.  My biggest, most important achievement, regarding football, would be my "Junior Athlete of the Year" award.  This award shows that I not only had an outstanding football season, but also a great academic year.
As far as what I can offer the team that I am involved with:  I know I will give 100% at all times.  I am always the first and last one in the weight room & I am always pushing others to work harder to help the team.  Once everyone else goes home, I always make sure I put in the extra effort to work on running, cardio and speed training.  My motivation for all of my hard work:  My bigest dream is to play Division 1 football in front of thousands of fans.  I know all the hard work I put in will help me accomplish my goal.
