Austin Vigil '12 Recruiting Profile

I am 6' 3" and weigh 225 - 230 lb's. I would welcome the opportunity to put my ability to work at the D-1 A level. I am an all conference Linebacker for both Junior and Senior Seasons and as a Junior was among the leaders in the state of California in sacks with 17. I was an All San Diego Selection.  Senior Year pre-season All San Diego and All League Selection as a Linebacker. I have received player awards from my freshman through Senior seasons in high school including Most Valuable Player Awards.
I played Tailback as well as Outside Linebacker throughout my high school years and am very athletic with good hands.  I am a leader on and off the field and would consider myself as a mentor to younger players and exhibited this by assisting with our local pop warner teams. 
My work ethic is very strong as it has been a goal to play football in college since my freshman year in high school.  My ideal college will be dependent on what football opportunities become available for me whether the college is small or large in student population and I do hope to compete and participate at the division I level. Academically I hope to attend a college where receiving a degree will provide me with future promise. I hope to major in Fire Science and hopefully become a Fire Captain as my goal will be to serve a community in some capacity.

I hope to meet with as many potential coaches within the next 3 months to confirm my commitment to help a football program that likes my abilities.
