After watching the thrills of my older sister playing soccer, I decided to start my soccer career at five years old. As a creative thinker, making swift and precise movements on the field allowed me to express myself more openly and enjoy the sport. Shortly after a couple of seasons, my coach realized where my unique talents could best take place: flying through the air in goal. As soon as I started as a goalie, my skills and hand-eye coordination grew strong, leading me to take a promotion to join my current club, San Diego Surf, at the age of eight.
Along with my loyal journey at Surf, came my passion for soccer. Here I began practicing three days a week as well as going to goalie sessions two days a week, and performing in games on the weekends. As soccer became my life, I achieved leading my team to the finals of Surf Thanksgiving Cup in 2021, to the quarterfinals of National Cup in 2021, and to the quarterfinals of State Cup in the top bracket with five shutout games in 2023. With these achievements, I was honorably promoted to a higher-level team in the club.
I work hard on the field with a competitive lifestyle which has influenced me to put that same amount of work (maybe even more so) into my academics. I want to eventually take my leadership skills and creativity into the work field as an engineer, so I can minimize problems that really matter through the art of design. I am looking for a college experience that can provide the avenue to advance myself athletically and academically with innovation.
