My name is Joshua Durst. I currently attend Monte Vista Christian School in Watsonville, CA as a sophomore. I hope to study architecture and engineering at a both academically and physically challenging college. When I was eight years old, I began playing Pop Warner. It was unlike anything I had experienced before, requiring hard work, patience and persistence, among many other things. I found myself wanting to quit, but my parents and teammates pushed me to stay. By the end of the season, I was so torn up...wanting nothing more than to keep playing. I have learned that hard work and persistence pay off, and that the only way to improve is to push yourself to become better. I love the game of football and the brotherhood that comes with being on a team. I love the challenge of pushing myself to excel.
As a big guy, I sometimes have to work harder than the smaller, more agile guys. I am Serious anbout wanting to improve and work out 5-7 times per week. Three times per week I get up at 5 am to work with an agility coach. Three times per week I lift weights in Sports Performance (often more because I often go to the gym where I also lift) and I recently joined the in Track and Field team, where I am leaning to throw Shot Put and Discus.
