Personal Statement
My name is Henry Baldwin and I am a 6’4” 180 lbs quarterback from Darien High School in Darien, CT. I am currently a member of the 2013 recruiting class. This year, as a junior, I led the Varsity Darien Blue Wave football team to an 8-2 record. I recorded a school single season record of 27 touchdown passes, while also throwing for 1884 yards with a .566 completion percentage. Following the season, I was named 1st team all-conference and Offensive MVP for my team. I was also elected captain for the upcoming 2012 season.
In addition to football, I also play basketball and lacrosse at the varsity level, but nothing compares to football. I embrace the opportunity to play the hardest position in all of sports. No other position on the field matters more to the success or failure of the team than quarterback, and to me there is no other position I could imagine playing. It has always been my dream to play quarterback in college. I am open to playing for any division, but I plan on playing for a very competitive program, and aim to earn playing time for as much of my college career as possible.
Although I love football, my number one priority when choosing a college is academics. I have worked extremely hard to achieve a 3.97 GPA, and understand that student comes first in student-athlete. I hope to find a school with outstanding academics, vibrant student life and a reputation for having a competitive football program. I am open to schools in any geographic region, and any enrollment size.
