Elmer Passapera '21 Recruiting Profile

I’ve played various sports throughout my youth but I couldn’t quite find my drive and passion for a particular sport. When I was introduced to football in high school, I immediately felt the eagerness to learn and be a part of the best American sport.

Come to find out, I love the game of football and am an enthusiastic team player. Striving to improve my performance, I am willing to be coached to not only improve myself but also be challenged to make my team better. While I’ve played various positions such as Right Guard, Left Tackle, Center, Outside Linebacker and Tight End; it is the Tight End position I excel the most. As I enjoy reviewing film (I really do), I target areas for improvement and learn my opponent’s strategies. My passion drives me to give 110% every play, down, series and quarter until the final whistle.

My hunger for the sport doesn’t distract my academics. Currently with a 3.7 GPA, I participate in Honor Roll classes, Advanced Math, Spanish 3 Honors, AP Psych as well as AP Literature. Knowing full well the importance of academics, my goal is to accomplish a 4.0 GPA. I finished my junior year with all A’s and look forward to expanding my knowledge for the sake of a better and brighter future.

Not only do I encompass my energy in learning, I’ve been taught that serving is good for the soul and it represents what God expects of us. My father initiated a relief effort for those affected in the aftermath of Hurricane Maria in Puerto Rico. This effort gave me the ability to care for others and involve myself with great people for a common cause. Showing compassion and bringing the love of God to someone in need and change that person’s life forever. Everyone has a purpose in life and I believe the hunger and passion to be better on and off the field have allowed me to grow and have a different perspective on life and what God has planned for me. The future I envision is to capture my dreams and fulfill the desires of playing this awesome sport, to be in the Honor Roll and have the career that’s been set before me. To be better, do better and shine better.
