Jeremiah Maldonado '23 Recruiting Profile

Living and growing up for most of my youth in New York had definitely influenced me to who I am. It made me grow up and become more mature and aware faster than an average kid should. I played baseball for as long as I could remember until we moved to Florida. Moving to Florida was a major transition point in my life. The move to high school down in Florida introduced me to football, and from that moment on I've been dedicated to mastering and honing my skills and grades in the classroom. I’ve learned that I can really do anything that I can put my mind to while playing football and other sports like baseball and basketball on the side. The importance of teamwork and always lifting up your brother beside you is vital. I learnt that the classroom translates onto the field. In the classroom we are given assignments and if we don't take care of our assignments, we fail and that translates onto the field. 

My goal for my final year of high school is to finish out all of my dual-enrollment classes with A’s as well as my honors classes. I strive to translate my academics over to the next level and I will continue to maintain a high GPA. Going into my senior year I am a 2 year starter however the success didn't come overnight. I fought for my starting spot all of freshmen and sophomore year. I found myself always having someone coming after the same spot that I’ve worked so hard for but I fought and never gave up and I won the starting spot and I still continue to work to ensure that I stay a starter. I am a utility player and found myself playing in a number of different positions on both sides of the ball and on special teams. I am very coachable and I look forward to being able to work and help any program take its game to the next level. You won't regret your decision with me!
