My name is Charlie Nelson, and I am a dedicated individual with a deep passion for both academic excellence and the game of football. From an academic standpoint, I have consistently challenged myself with a rigorous course load, earning a 98 (of 100) GPA and achieving a 35 on the ACT. I have also focused on leadership, serving as my class president during my sophomore and junior years. I understand the importance of balancing leadership, academics and athletics, and I hope to find success with a college football program, on and off the field.
My experience as an offensive lineman has taught me the value of discipline, teamwork, and resilience. Football is not just a sport to me; it sets the standard for how I show up in my life. This sport has already showed me the importance of sacrifice and hard work, without the need for the spotlight. As offensive linemen, our hard work in the trenches often goes unnoticed. However, I know the importance of teamwork, and I know I succeed when a teammate breaks away for a long run or touchdown catch. I am ready to bring my skills, determination, and positive attitude to your program.
One of my coaches once told me to "respect all but fear none". That's the mindset I bring to football. I embrace challenges and view every setback as an opportunity to learn and grow. No opponent will roll over for you and I try to meet every challenge willingly and with high energy. I will do whatever it takes to get prepared, whether it's studying game film, refining my technique, or putting in extra hours in the weight room, I am dedicated to becoming the best version of myself as a scholar athlete.
Thank you for considering me as a candidate for your program.
