Personal Statement

My name is Elijah Scott Howard. I'm a rising 2024 Senior at Pierce County High School in Blackshear, GA. I'm  a 6ft 2inch, 220lb, determined athlete. I enjoy playing all sports (football, basketball, weightlifting, and track and field.). In football, I have experience in playing offensive line (every position except center) and defensive line (defensive end). In basketball, I have experience every position on the court, but I'm dominate in the 4 position. Weight lifting, my max lifts are 305 bench, 275 power cling, 500 front squat, 405 back squat, 300 hang cling, and reps of 225 is 7 reps. This past year was my 1st year joining the track and field team. I'm #2 in Pierce County History Shot: 46.9 and 2nd in Discus: 138. I will be a great team member because I have passion and the work ethic to support my passion. I'm willing to play any position where I'm needed.

When it comes to choosing what school I would like to go to, I'm looking at south eastern colleges. I am open minded about colleges and hope to just find a college that fits me best. My major, as of right now, is Education. I would love to teach History or Economics. I do realize in order to pursue my dream, I have to level up my gpa. I lost 2 very important people in my life 2 weeks apart at the beginning of my sophomore year (my granddaddy, and great grandma) due to covid. Their deaths affected me tremendously, but I'm back on my grind and I intend on making them proud.

My realistic athletic goals are to continue playing sports I love at a high competitive level. Another goal of mine is to make an impact on the team and to be an example to those after me. Knowing at the end of the day that I made a difference and gave it my all, would keep a smile on my face and in my heart. Through the whole process (the good, the bad, and the ugly) I will always Give God Glory #G3.
