I’m Jeshua Hosford and I love the game of football. I love this game because it has played a significant role in developing me into the the person I am today.
From the earliest days of playing, I learned the discipline of practice, and that, if I want to be at my best, I have to give my best. This meant going to camps, when many of my friends were enjoying their summers off. It was tough, but the sacrifices have been worth it.
I’ve learned that no matter how well you do, there’s always room for improvement, and that no matter how good you may think you are, you’re only as good as the team you’re on.
Because of this, I’ve had to develop into an on-field leader and an off-field leader. To be a great student-athlete, I know I must be a great student, as well as an athlete. If I know I can be a straight A student, I can accept nothing less. I must respect all the leaders in my life, from parents to coaches, to teachers and pastors, I must set an example of honor and trust in those God has placed in my life to develop me.
I believe that these things, and thousands of other seemingly insignificant decisions have contributed to my success both on and off the field, including the privilege of being named the starting quarterback in both my junior and senior years.
While I have learned a great deal, I know I have so much more in me. That’s why I want to continue to work and play this game that I love so much. I know there is a better Jeshua Hosford coming, a better player and man, and playing the game of football will help contribute to my development into the man God created me to be.
