Zack Edgar '16 Recruiting Profile

   After playing football for only one year, I proved myself to be an incredibly fast learner by starting varsity the following year and every year since. Playing in one of the most competitive 6A regions in the state of Georgia only made things more interesting. I learned how use my body in the off-season during Freshman and Sophomore years, participating in wrestling.I was the JV pin champion. I learned how to gain weight the right way and how to get stronger without cheating. I have learned how to win as a team and how to lose as a team. Sacrificing my body for my teammates in order to get the win, even when we didn’t get it. I even learned how to coach the sport, becoming certified with GMSAA to coach 8th grade football. This has only compounded my passion in playing the sport. It has taught me how to be a better player and also how to receive coaching better. The things that I have learned in my high school athletics career have helped me to grow as a player and as a leader. These things have prepared me to be a student-athlete in any college I am admitted to.
 
I am looking for further schooling that can allow me to attain the education I need and desire, but also allow me to play football. I have an unquenchable desire to work hard. It is what has made me the player I am today. I am the first one in and the last one out because I want to be better than yesterday. I can add to your program athletically by creating a more competitive environment. Even though I start and don’t have to participate on a scout team, I participate anyway because I can make my teammates better. I can also add to your program academically by applying the same work ethic I have for football to the classroom.I have demonstrated this by becoming a multiple AP scholar in the STEM Magnet program at my high school. By being the hardest working and most internally motivated, I will have an immediate effect on your team.
