Personal Statement
Looking back at my football experience, I have shown growth over each passing year and as a developing player today. Each year has given me new opportunities to develop as a player and a person. It has also showed me that within a team, you have to be a leader for them. Building my teammates into the young men and players that they are growing to become in the world. I faced many challenges first starting out in football in 6th grade where I was unable to play due to Health Problems. But I didn't let that stop me as in the 7th and 8th grade year I became a starter and eventually winning my first Championship. I tend to realize that in football, you need to be Accountable, work hard for what you are striding for, and become a leader for your teammates.
However, a Leader isn't just talking to your teammates and showing them that you can put a team on your back. A leader motivates, strives, learns, and shows how you can uplift a person. They take on adversity when times are low and uneasy, showing them what they did wrong and building them off there mistakes. A person can say 100 words and no changes will happen, but the action you show after your words will show the leadership within you.
Through my years of football, I have shown these traits towards my teammates and my Coaches. I can apply these not only on the Field but in my Academics as well. I am striving for a school that i can share my abilities not only as a Defensive Back and/or Running Back but as a Leader and Friend. Also, to encourage my Academics in the classroom and pursue my dreams into being a Engineer.
