It surprises most people to hear that this is my first year playing HS football. My parents and head coach have been trying to get me to play for years. I was reluctant to play for fear of injury that would impede our run at State Basketball Championships for the third year. I knew in those first days at football camp that I was going to have to learn quickly what my teammates had learned years prior. Nobody was more shocked than me when I ran a 40 yard pass into the end zone for our first touchdown against a team we hadn't beat in years. What I lacked in football IQ, had to be made up for in athleticism, intelligence, and hard work. I made many rookie mistakes in that first game, but those mistakes were never made twice. I watched film of each game to correct and build myself into a better football player for my team and the coaches that believed in me. Kamiah is a running team, so when they threw me passes in clutch situations, I wasn't about to let them down. We ended our season undefeated League Champions and I fell in love with football. It has always been my goal to play basketball in college, but after this season, I choose football. I got better each time I stepped onto that field and I know I have more potential to give with the right program.
