My name is William Shaw but everyone calls me Buddy. I’m currently a Senior at Mercer County High School in Aledo, IL. and a Captain of the Mercer County Golden Eagles! My dream is to continue playing football in college, get a degree, and eventually go into Law Enforcement. I love the game of football. I’ve been in love with this game since the first time I picked up a football. When I am on that field, nothing else matters. And when I am off the field, I can't wait to get back on it. I know this is what I was meant to do with my life. What I do not have in natural ability I make up for with my heart, my dedication, and hard work. I believe sometimes these assets trump everything else. Nobody else in my family has had the opportunity to receive a Four Year Degree or to play football in college. I want to achieve that for myself. I want to use football as a tool to help me get a great education and to have a great life. I’m a hard worker and a leader in the locker room and on the field. I believe I would be a valuable asset to any college program. Playing football in college and getting a degree is going to make my family proud and that is something that drives me to succeed.
