Personal Statement
My name is Matt Williams and I will be graduating in May 2013. I play on the football team at West Aurora High School in Aurora, IL. I am very interested in a great football program. I have always dreamt of playing college ball and I am also extremely impressed the many options offered. I am a two year varsity starter has a linebacker for the defensive team.
I am on All-State 1st Team, 2 year All-Conference, Tri County All–Area Defense, Distinguished Athlete Award, 2 year letterman and player of the week on Don Beebe’s Football program. I was the Male Student Athlete of the Year for the School in 2013. I was also voted at my school MVP on Defense for 2012. A quote from West Aurora head coach Nate Eimer in the Naperville Daily Herald, “He’s my favorite kid I’ve coached…He just brought it every day”. Many college coaches say I am very explosive and have good size. I think I will fit in well with most defenses. I had 67 solo tackles and 2 interceptions in the 2012 season. I have played tackle football since I was 6 years old playing both sides of the ball. The positions I’ve played most of my football career I have played running back and linebacker. I am 6’1” and weigh 215 lbs.
I am currently a sophomore at RMU in Chicago. I play inside and outside linebacker positions. This year our team went 8-3 in the top conference in NAIA. We ranked #1 in rush defense in the nation. I led the team in solo tackle with 49 and second overall with 63 total tackles.
Sincerely, Matt Williams
