Personal Statement
My passion for competition is hereditary. It started with my great grandfather, a three-sport athlete, way back in the 1940s. Now, I intend to carry the torch for this generation of the family. Through the years, I participated in everything from soccer to karate to swimming and baseball. And while I currently enjoy wrestling and playing rugby, football is my passion.
During my freshman and sophomore years, I learned the importance of discipline and teamwork. I also learned some tough lessons: that actions have consequences and, for good or bad, coaches see everything. But in those moments are opportunities for growth both on the field and as a person. I learned to look back and appreciate the learning moments because overcoming difficulty feels so good.
The 2020 season, our team won the conference for the first time in 50 years. I will never forget that night and how amazing it felt to win as a team. And next year we can do it all over again when we make the state playoffs!
As a student-athlete, I’ve learned how to balance sports and academics. I look forward to finding the right fit for me at a college that will allow me to pursue my passion for football as well as to challenge me to succeed in the classroom.
